The world has a way of reminding me that most of us are good people. The World Cup has been so fun to watch. It’s been exciting to see people so excited about the country I live in and things we take for granted every single day. It’s been dreamy to see people dancing in the streets together. Ever since the Knicks big win and the World Cup beginning I am reminded how special New Orleans is. (I know, what does that even have to do with any of it?) Well, we dance in the streets regularly, are joyful on sidewalks together at least once, or 20 times a year. Pure joy can be found 24-7-365.
It all reminded me of this house….. and I used to know the people across the street and they actually play soccer as professionally as one can in New Orleans, so this isn’t even a random prop.

Sunday is the Best - for the Femmes
If you can only attend one day of parading, let it be this one. Sunday of the first weekend is my new favorite day. The Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale rolls and in between every float is a band marching down the Avenue. It’s heaven. The weather is usually sunny, the tourists haven’t showed up yet. It’s just us. It’s the neighbors cooking everything, the people you stood by yesterday playing in the street, the dj up the road playing loud enough we can dance for a solid two hours before a sign of a parade. And when it starts, the parades are rolling all day long.

A fun little mom break series. I would add a color each day for a month. A nod to doodling, what got me into art in the first place. I used to cover my notes in doodles at UNO and my professor told me I was in the wrong major. I still finished my Psychology degree. I still doodled and decided to doodle all of New Orleans. While most of my art is of buildings and city scenes about once a year I allow myself the freedom to play.

My favorite thing I’ve painted since we have been sick. A dream of color and chaos. What I imagine parts of my brain look like.

A fun series of Abstracts. I would add color to canvases when I could on my mom breaks for 30 days and this was the result. Exploration of color and design. A deep breath of silliness, play, and leaning into the weird that is being an artist.
A Walk In New Orleans Collection
A collection of paintings representing the sights and sounds I come across on my daily walks around the city of New Orleans. Everyday is an adventure and you truly never know what you might stumble upon, whether it be a parade, kids chasing streetcars or the great bubble war in the French Quarter. Look for new works added every week this summer.

Lead Artist
Kyle likes to dabble into realism. He attended Digipen Institute of Technology in Seattle after serving 8 years in the US Marines. Kyle worked at Kern Studios for years making Mardi Gras magic happen. He probably painted some of your favorite props that came down the Avenue. He will slowly be taking over daily operations and painting full-time for Riley Art Gallery

Creative Lead and FounderJanan started creating pieces of bright colorful art when she missed home and it quickly became a business bringing her right back to the Big Easy. Janan is creative lead on projects Riley Art Gallery connects with.

Porch concerts are my favorite thing to stumble upon when walking around the city. They blossom during festival season but if you try really hard you can find one almost every single weekend. The block becomes a little concert family, there’s always dancing, always food, always a good time .
*Embellished Canvas Prints are printed on stretched canvas. Once the artist receives the canvas she will add clear gel medium to mimic the original brushstrokes to add texture to the piece. She will then go back in and add pops of color when needed. Each embellished canvas print is its own unique and original piece of art.
*ON canvas prints artist will add one item of your choice to make it your own unique piece of art. If you have more than one send me a message and we can add as many as you want for an additional charge!
*when ordering a canvas print your shipping may change depending on your address. We will email you a remaining balance if it is over the shipping price and will refund locals for canvas prints and deliver them
*Please allow 4-6 weeks for any embellished canvas print orders! I do my best to get them out quickly but they do need extra attention!
