“Hopefully you realize life does not have to be perfect to be beautiful”-Janan Riley

It all started with painting and sketching while holding a sleeping baby. Janan decided to try and start a business out of her art and started sharing videos on the internet of her learning process. Janan has recently become known for her freehand paintings of New Orleans homes and memorable architecture of the south. Always known for being artistic, it wasn’t until 33 that she decided to try painting and she says she now cannot stop. “I truly believe this is a gift from God and Universe and I will not stop until there is nothing left to share.”
She hopes her pieces make people happy and show people that there is beauty in everything surrounding them, from old buildings to people living their normal lives. Janan has found a way to combine her two passions for sharing the city of New Orleans and being creative. She invites you into her world with bright colors and bold lines,

“We all have very specific memories of these places and moments that make New Orleans and south Louisiana unique. If I can bring you back to that happy memory, whether it be a walk in the garden district or a Mardi Gras parade, if I can make you remember that through creating then I am doing my dream job.” -Janan Riley

Janan is taking this year to learn and grow as an artist. Hoping to play with new mediums and try out abstract designs of her current work. With mom duty and her gaining popularity, her commissions are limited in 2024. If you would like to be on the commission list please send an email so we can look at the schedule with you. For more information on commissions please check out our recent blog entry.

Look for a New Orleans themed collection from Janan at the end of the summer.
