Kyle Riley grew up in Lowell, Michigan. He joined the Marine Corps and played the tuba in the Marine Band for 8 years. Kyle fell in love with the sights and sounds of the city while he worked sound in the Quarter when he wasn’t marching in the band. Kyle has always been an artist and his family tells stories of him drawing dinosaurs when he was 4 years old using both hands at the same time. Throughout his life he has done custom paintings and sketches for friends and family. After serving in the Marines he decided to make his gift into a career and works full time at Kern Studios painting props for Mardi Gras floats and theme parks around the country. He also enjoys doing commissions and working with Janan on projects for Riley Art Gallery. Kyle studied fine art for two years at Digipen Institute of Technology in Redmond, Washington. He could be considered a modern day Renaissance man, and can be found doing numerous things from remodeling a home, building a computer or playing the guitar.

Kyle enjoys using many mediums including acrylic paints, gauche and charcoal.
